Matt was a great professor - kind, easygoing, and makes sure we know what is happening in the industry. I got a good gig because he personally helped me to land a good job because of his connections. I can't say that for other professors. Don't believe the other reviews that are negative - most likely these students failed for not attending class.
Dr. Carr was a great professor. Her class is organized very uniquely the class time is used for review, you need to watch lectures outside of class. Her class definitely exceeded the two hours for every credit hour standard, however, if you put the time into study for each quiz the exams were okay. Plenty of resources to get you where you want to go, and you can get into top med/law schools or IB/consulting if you want, but the STEM classes and busi application process are definitely intended to weed out students. If you’re trying to decide what university to go to, Iowa is definitely a good choice, you’ll love it. The writing program is amazing, would definitely recommend.
Really nice professor overall but please note you will have to do the work for some of the acct. problems. Professor is very helpful and responds quick to emails. HW was only 5-6 questions, quizzes were multiple choice. Midterm and final were timed and multiple choice. Excel certificate project provided easy points towards our grade.
